New Wine reflections

The New Wine Gathering here in New South Wales has drawn to a close. The chairs have been stacked away, the banners rolled and folded, the cables coiled and technology packed. The delegates have all returned to the various parts of the country from which they came.

I sit here and reflect that the value in such events goes way beyond great worship and preaching and awesome ministry. Friendships were struck which I believe will have eternal significance. Weary people were encouraged and blessed by the atmosphere of the gathering and we may never know the impact of a kind word spoken at the meal table.

We travel back to the UK 10,600 miles away, but not before visiting good friends we didn’t even know a week ago.

Wendy and I have been blessed and encouraged beyond words here and will look forward with eager anticipation to next year’s gathering in Canberra.
