Who Are We

In September 2014, Julian & Wendy Richards and Steve & Sarah Stotesbury started praying and meeting together. A number of people joined us and a small community developed. In the summer of 2016, we felt it right to start meeting more “formally” on Sunday mornings and Tuesday evenings since that time.

JULIAN & WENDY

Julian & Wendy met in the mid 1980’s at a nurture group following the Billy Graham “Mission England” events in 1984. Married in 1985  they have three grown children, two of whom now have families of their own. It is a source of great joy to them that all of their children (including their two sons-in-law) have chosen the faith for themselves.

They were sent by their home church (Christ the Rock Christian Fellowship in Yate, South Gloucestershire) to Moorlands Bible College in 1993 and have been in Church leadership since that time, both as salaried staff and in a bi-vocational capacity. Julian currently leads The Seed alongside his role as UK Development Director for the mission organisation Christ for India,  and working in the development team of Moorlands College trying to promote their placement-based degree in Missional Leadership. Julian also teaches guitar and Wendy runs her own small business to help keep the wolf from the door!

In their down time, they love to dance ballroom and sequence (that’s waltz’s quicksteps, foxtrots, tangos, cha-cha and the like!), they are also very involved in the Bristol Business Choir. Wendy enjoys pottering in the garden and Julian loves to laze in the shade with his beloved guitar.

STEVE AND SARAH

Steve and Sarah have been married for 30 years and live in the beautiful village of Cheddar. They have a passion for worship to create an intimacy with the Holy Spirit. They take the Bible seriously as a foundation for faith in God. “Our Christian walk has always involved us taking risks of faith, and life can still feel ‘hairy’ at times. We wouldn’t want it any other way.”  Joining Julian and Wendy in ‘The Seed’ is another example of this adventure of faith. Steve says: “We want to be loving, inclusive and encouraging, welcome back the prodigals and be an effective basis for mission.”

Sarah is a full-time wife and mother of two ‘teen-age’ children. Steve works in Bristol and often travels with his job. As a family, they enjoy cycling, walks with their Labrador dogs, movies and time with good friends.
